July Update...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Make-up, Vintage, Family <3

I know July isn't quite over yet, but I feel like doing an Instagram and photo update.
Most bloggers do a weekly update, but I find that really odd, as most people who follow them on their blog probably follow their Instagram as well and also if they have the 'Instagram Widget' then it is just a repeat of what is being displayed on there. I thought I would do a quick catchup on some of the things I posted on Instagram and just general photos from the past month as I have only just made my widget viewable and not all of these photos have been posted.

Is you aren't following me on Instagram, You can follow me here, or search using the username aliciaemmie

Stressful Sales...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

I picked up this dress whilst shopping last week with Hanna and Abi. We were in River Island having a browse through the sale rail, which is something I don't usually do because I like things neat and in order so sales stress me out. However River Island had some nice things and organised via size so it was easier to look.
I found this little vintage gem. I love the print; it reminds me of a Cath Kidston Print and at £15 reduced from £50 it would have been rude not to give it a new home!

Madness...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

Oops.. this post has been saved as a draft for a few days because I have been working, and now the weather isn't very sunny so apologies if some of it makes no sense!

When I saw this dress, I just had to buy it. I think it looks like something you would find in Monsoon. The material is best described as silk-cotton. It has a beautiful slight shine to the finish but is nice and cool in this summer weather.

Cath Inspiration...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

It's been a while since I have done a post about nails so I thought you might appreciate a little tutorial showing you how you can achieve a Cath Kidston inspired print.

I have broken the design down into simple steps so that you can achieve this really pretty design.

[[I did this design on my Mom's nails as mine were already painted]]

You will need :
Base coat,
Main colour,
White, green and two shades of pink nail art pens,
Topcoat.
It is important to allow the coats to dry between steps.

Apply a base coat. I use AVON.

Apply a base colour of your choice. I use Barry M Gelly range as only 1 coat is needed.

Using the nib, draw a small horizontal line and 2 V's either side.

Add a dot onto the end of each line and fill in the gaps inside.

Using the nib, add small dots around the white cloud

I like to alternate the corners the design is on.

Using the nib, add a large pale pink dot in the middle of each white cloud.

Make 2 or 3 little green lines coming from the edge of the pink dot to the edge of the white cloud. You can use the striper brush or the nib of the nail art pen.

Using the nib, add small darker pink squiggles in a semi circular shape to the centre of the pale pink dot to give the rose effect.

Top Coat will prolong the wear. I find that this is the best Top Coat when using nail art because it doesn't drag the paint as it sweeps over it.

This design also looks nice in blue.

Please leave a comment if you have tried this design and tell me how you found the tutorial

Tragus Tuesday...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

I wore this outfit on Tuesday I went to the Half Moon in Ironbridge for lunch with friends.
I also got my tragus pierced; Ouch is all I can say about that! Not the worst pain I have experienced, but not an experience I will be repeating anytime soon.

The flower crown made me feel really pretty and summery; I also had a lot of compliments about how nice it looked. Thank you!

Plymouth...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

This British weather is BEAUTIFUL! I have been out in the sun for one day and I already have a tan.
Everything looks better with a tan!

A few weekends ago Mom and I went to Plymouth for a mid-week break. I go to university there so we stayed at my uni house as it overlooks the sea. The weather down south is always so much nicer than the Midlands so of course, it was sunny everyday we were down there.

If you have never been to Plymouth you need to have a weekend city break there. Everything is so pretty and the way of life near the sea and beach is totally different from my home town.

June Purchases..

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

June. What a nice month it has been, with Mr Sunshine making a few appearances as well!
I was a bit reluctant to do this post because I hate it when people copy me. I have found that some people have literally been out and bought most of my 'Wishlist' posts.
However as my wise mother said 'Copying is the best form of flattery'.

All items were bought at full shop price, unless otherwise stated they were reduced or in the sale.

PURCHASES....

These Eyelashes are my favourite because you on't have to faff around with glue and they stay in place. So when they were only £1, I bought all that the shop had left.

I bought this mini set in the Isle of Wight as a total impulse buy. It was too cute not to. The 'coralista' blush is really pretty and the sunbeam is a prefect highlighter.

Who does't love moustaches! I bought this ice-cube tray for my new uni house in September. I am way too cool!

I haven't used this bath bomb yet because it is too pretty, so I can't comment on the sent, but hay; it looks cute.

This stuff is GORGEOUS! I eat it on its own, but I am going to follow the cheesecake recipe on the jar to make a strawberry cheesecake.

I finally gave in and bought a Real Techniques brush, and WOW! This brush is amazing. I never understood what people meant when they said these brushes are 'amazing' because they are just a brush. But now I know. It gave my face a flawless finish and blended in my concealer so well!

Boots, Buy 1 get 1 half price... why do you so this to me! I understand the hype of this concealer, it is cheap and does an amazing job at hiding any imperfections.
The Kate Moss lipstick in shade 16 is a lovely pale pink and looks lovely with my blonde hair (if I do say so myself)

I hate washing my face because it gets in my hair and everything. So I use a cleansing milk, then toner, then a moisturiser. I usually use a really cheap milk from Wilkinson because it suits my skin, but I thought I would give this 'simple' one a shot.

A new scarf, in the summer?! Okay, this was in the sale, so why the hell not! Good quality winter scarf for a low price, Yes Please!

I love this dress and it shows of my tan. However I think it a bit big around my waist but I couldn't go down a size otherwise it wouldn't fit around by bust as nicely. So for now I will just have to live with looking a size bigger than I am.

I had been eyeing this up or ages, so when it went into sale, I grabbed it. Looks super cute with a white collar under it.

Another sale item. This top is so pretty, but an awkward length. It isn't cropped and it isn't full length so it just hugs the widest art of me so I will wear it tucked into something.

Finally. I have a black leather jacket since wanting one before Christmas! I was so fussy with choosing a jacket but finally found one I liked!

New Look sale is not my favourite sale to be honest. Mainly because I used to work in New Look and no one had any respect and treated it like a jumble sale so as soon as you tided one area, it was all on the floor again. However I found this little gem!

Last Topshop Sale item. I bought this on-line, without reading that it was cropped. So disappointed as cropped jumpers aren't really my style, especially with my big bust and it also looked to big. I was going to keep it because it was comfy and the colour is amazing, but I decided I probably wouldn't wear it (well, mom decided for me) so returned it yesterday.

Cheeky Primark doing a dupe of Topshop Aubrey boots! So of course, at a fraction of the price I scooped up these blogger favourites!

How cute are these and they are leather! Also very comfy with frilly socks. Without socks it rubs my little toes, but my feet are very sensitive anyway.

Okay, I did't realise how much I had bought! Also I bought quite a bit from Topshop which is unlike me.
Let's hope July is calmer!

Thank you for reading!
