Isle of Wight...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

Last week I went on a mini holiday with some friends to the Isle of Wight to visit our friend from school who works and lives on the island. Being blonde, we managed to miss the ferry on the way there... and the way back but was allowed on the next ferry; Phew! The Island is beautiful and reminds me of Cornwall with its' country lanes.

We visited Sandown and Newport but took an unintentional detour around the Island on the way back from Newport one day as my friend was rubbish at directions; she was then banned from sitting in the front of the car!

This is a quote from the same friend... ''I thought they might have spoke manish on the island!'' ''why?!'' '...because we are in the Isle of Man aren't we?'' Oh dear!

This was such a relaxed holiday; However I did go Kayaking .. and fell in 3 times! Once because we were messing around and I got capsized, then I threw the instructors ore so he pushed me out, then I finally got back into my kayak and reached for my ore... and fell straight back out!

Hello Tin Man...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Sciences, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and treating their dad's today on Fathers Day; also Happy Fathers day to all of the fathers in heaven looking down on your families who will no doubt be thinking of you today.

My post today is a review on a highlighter I recently purchased. I've been looking for a highlighter for AGES, but I haven't seen any that I like and that is cheap in case I don't like the look.
I'm pretty sure highlighter is a new thing in the world of makeup, because this time 2 years ago I had never heard of it... or I'm just a looser; probably the latter.

I found this SEVENTEEN 'Instant Glow' in Boots and picked it up for a healthy price of £4.99, and then got it for £2.50 as Boots had a 'buy one get one half price' offer (I also bought the L'Oreal Super Liner which is AMAZINGGGGGGG).

I apply the two bronze colours above my bronzer on my cheek bones, and the pink shades if I am wearing blusher as opposed to bronzer. I'm not a big fan of the 'shiny nose' so I leave that one out (don't want to look like Tin man now do I).

I apply the highlighter using my MAC 168 contoured brush and then blend the streak into my bronzer or blusher.

If  you now any other techniques for applying highlighter please let me know!

Thank you for reading.

1992...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Science, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

I was born in 1992... therefore I am a 90's kid. However I would not say I truly lived through the 90's, because I was growing up. My memories of the 90's include listening to The Spice Girls CD, BNBN biscuits and The Smurfs-'Poptastic' tape on permanent replay. So when it come to 90's fashion, I haven't got a clue.

I've been wanting some new highwaisted jeans for a while (after I split the bum on my old ones when I put on weight... .anywayyyyyy) and since I have recently been developing my vintage fashion look I fancied some vintage jeans and fell in love with Levi's which mom later told me were what she wore in the 90's.
So I bidded on some Vintage Levi's 560 jeans, loose fit tapered leg and won! Yay!
I should have got these in the size smaller as they are a bit too baggy and make me look HUGE. But oh well, nothing the tumble dryer can't sort out.

Top - Topshop
Trousers - Ebay, Levi 560
Shoes - Vans
Necklace - Topshop
Belt - Newlook
Braclets - Primark
Watch - Riverisland

Makeup
Mascara - Benefit 'Yes They're Real'
Bronzer - Bourjois Delice de Poudre (52)
No foundation or any other makeup - NAKED

I need to learn how to use Photoshop to arrange my photos because this blogger organizer is the most awkwardest thing I've ever used!!!
rant over

Mr Sunshine...

AliciaEmmie, 15th December, University, Biomedical Science, Current, Makeup, Vintage, Family <3

The weather this weekend has been BEAUTIFUL! On Saturday I went shopping in Shrewsbury which is not too far from where I live. I bought an absolute bargain from Topshop; a pair of blue velvet shorts for £4.50 reduced from £36.00 in last winter’s stock. They have black lace around the bottom but I’m going to unpick this and sew some cream lace on instead.
We also went into the market; something I haven’t done for years. I loved it! Buying the meat from the ‘meat man’ the bread and cakes from this really cute old lady and of course some olives from the deli.

Today I went to Peckforton Castle with Mom and Dad for a red wine spritzer. The grounds and the castle itself if so pretty and picturesque, like a dream wedding venue.  On the way back home we called into The Old Rectory in Wem where my brother got married last week. They do lovely afternoon tea with scones there…perfect!

I felt really confident in my outfit today so I thought I'd do an outfit post - something I've never done before!
